bullshit he just called because he had a 6 kicker. he did not put hellmuth on a 7. hes just not good enough to realise he was ahead. would hellmuth bet that weak on the river with Q’s full, no chance. Matusow or any other player at that table would have raised the river for sure

The reason brandon only called was probably because he had a 6 kicker, 7 8 would have him beat, plus the board was paired which makes a full house possible. but boy did he get lucky playing 7 6 offsuit!

I think it’s fair to say that Phil Hellmuth got very unlucky here, or rather, Brandon got very lucky. Hell, even Gabe Kaplan says that Brandon got lucky here & Gabe is a legend so you can trust his word. Now, I’m far from a master when it comes to the math in poker & when I made that comment I wasn’t really thinking about probability. But let’s assume that no one folded a 7 or a 6. That means Brandon had 5 outs to hit a winner on the river,which he did & clearly this can be seen as lucky.
You need to learn some poker probability before you start talking about this as “very unlucky”

Maybe he wouldn’t have called against another player but this type of thing seems to happen to Hellmuth a lot, maybe he’s got karma issues? Bad karma or not Hellmuth is a top notch player.
everybody at the table knows phil is the better player…they are just having fun

You can see why Phil Hellmuth is pissed off. He played the hand well & got unlucky, actually very unlucky. However, he should be happy that Brandon just called. I think if Brandon re-raises in this situation, Hellmuth will call & be more pissed off because he lost even more money.
